The innovative JetSlide™
guitar slide allows you to play slide guitar licks,
while retaining full use of your fretting fingers for playing normal
guitar chords and solos. JetSlide
guitar slides work equally well on
electric guitars, acoustic guitars, and resonator guitars.
Many guitar players tell us that
JetSlide is a "must have" in guitar accessories.
This guitar accessory is a great tool for learning slide guitar and
for advanced slide players as well.
With the JetSlide, you won't sacrifice
one of your playing fingers,
as with traditional sleeve-type guitar slides.

Here is a great song recorded with a JetSlide by Steve Senes with
the Superswamp Heroes.

Steve said, "Without the versatility
of the JetSlide, I wouldn't have been able to pull
off this song the way I wanted it." |

Watch a video of Sven Augustin and his JetSlide in action
(in
German--quick translation to the right) of the JetSlide in Action here or
here. |
To
give you a brief translation of what I'm saying in in the video. "Flaschenpost" means "Message
in a bottle" and it's the title for a series of articels I wrote
in my weblog about bottleneck and slide guitar stuff. This is the
second video and especially about the JetSlide which I really like
as a alternative to standard bottlenecks because it allows you to
use all of your fingers for fretting and I really like the brass
version because it's warm tone (on electric guitar I prefer the chrome
one). I talk about that there are 3 versions of the JetSlide and
that I've got the brass and the chrome one and I look forward to
test the glass version one day. And then I show how easy it is to
use the JetSlide and that the main advantage for me is that the bottleneck-finger
isn't forced to be stiff all the time like on a standard bottleneck. |

This
is an all new version of the JetSlide.
Many
of our customers have been asking for a glass version, so here
it is! Choose either a brass or a stainless JetSlide
with a piece of glass tubing (sliced in half) and glued onto
the underside or playing surface of the bar. The glass
has a wall thickness of 1.5 mm and it increases the overall
contact surface from 5/16" to
about 7/16".
The increased surface
area gives you a thicker tone. It
doesn't add much extra weight, (the weight is already in the
brass bar) so it is still easy to control. It has a very
nice, clear glass sound made famous by Duane Allman.
The glass
will hold up to normal playing but will break if the slide
is dropped on a hard surface, in which case it can be carefully
removed and you would still have a very usable metal slide.
The glass sleeve can be replaced and will
be available & can
be glued back on by the owner. If you're already a JetSlide
user, you're going to love this!

This new slide design allows you to alternate
from normal chording and fingering to playing slide without any loss in
musical timing. You will be amazed at the things you can do with it!
It is very easy to control and many
guitarists find it only takes a few minutes to get used to. JetSlide's
unique design virtually eliminates unfavorable noise caused by accidentally
striking the fret board too hard.
This slide will work equally as well
on electric,
acoustic and resonator guitars.
The JetSlide is designed to be worn on
the ring finger as shown above. The bent portion of the slide bar rests
between the flesh of the ring finger and little finger. This prevents
the slide from turning excessively toward the underside of the ring finger.
It also stabilizes the slide while it is being used, and helps it fall
out of the way when the finger tab is released. |
|

 |
The two pictures on the left show a guitarist
playing chords normally without engaging the slide bar to the strings. |
|

 |
To use the slide, simply place the little
finger on the finger tab and apply pressure as needed (as shown in the two
pictures on the left). Try to keep the slide straight by gently squeezing
it between your fingers. The remaining fingers may be used to dampen unwanted
string noise. The slide should fit your finger comfortably, like a ring.
When the finger tab is released, the slide will return to the positions
shown above and it will remain ready for action. You don't have to twist,
move, or turn it out of the way. |
